Sawdust Studio & Turnery creates a limited range of goods from reclaimed New England wood. All pieces are turned or shaped from green logs to encourage natural warping during the drying process, giving each a unique and distinctive shape. And every piece is happily riddled with imperfections from Mother Nature: dramatic spalting, striking trails of ambrosia discoloration, and knots of all shapes and sizes. The beauty of these handcrafted wares derives from the individuality of the wood itself, allowing each piece to be expressive in its own way. www.sawduststudio.co

PRODUCT CARE All products are turned or shaped from salvaged green wood (no trees are sacrificed) and each is finished with a food-safe oil or oil-wax combination to preserve the wood’s natural beauty. Each is unique. To clean your wooden items, wipe with a damp towel as needed. Never submerge in water or put in the dishwasher to avoid cracking or unintended warping, and avoid harsh soaps that will wear down the natural finish. If the wood looks dry, reapply a natural food-safe oil (mineral oil, walnut oil, hemp oil, beeswax, etc.) using a soft cloth. Let the wood absorb the oil for a few hours and then buff with a cloth. Do not use olive oil as it will go rancid with time.
