M + A is a destination devoted to art, artists, artisans and design. We are inspired by art as it relates to design: the soul, the spark that ignites beautiful ideas. We are equally as motivated by craft traditions passed down from generations.
We work with artisans to innovate design, product development and product diversification within each exquisite technique. By partnering with them and ensuring living wages, we honor the beauty of craft and help provide economic opportunities for these talented artisans and a future for these precious crafts
The majority of the textiles that we develop at M + A are made by female artisans who have learned their craft from their mothers, and in turn, pass down their knowledge to their daughters. We take pride in supporting these women and by extension, their families. We know that by helping to empower women and their contributions we are helping to create a more inclusive global economy. We delight in sharing their story and hope that you will be as inspired as we are.
Giving Back to Our Community
We are also dedicated to helping folks closer to home and are active in giving back to our local community. We work with a fulfillment center that employs people with disabilities, and we contribute to God's Love We Deliver, a non-sectarian organization that prepares and delivers medically tailored meals to seriously ill people in the NY Metro area.
We believe that our work: from the art and artists who've inspired our designs to the artisan traditions that feed into each hand made item, will tell a story that is steeped in tradition but elevated by innovation.

We realize you need a bit of time to make sure that you want to keep your M + A purchase, so we give our customers 10 days from the date of of their purchase to make their decision. We want you to love everything that you buy from us. If you decide you would like to return or exchange a product please let us know by contacting us as soon as possible within this time frame. After this time we, unfortunately, won’t be able to offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in new, unused condition with all original packaging and accompanied by a copy of the Packing Slip included with the original shipment. We reserve the right to deny returns/exchanges if the merchandise returned does not meet the requirements stated above. We do not refund original or return shipping costs. Shipping costs will only be refunded when the return is a result of our error. If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please notify us within 3 days of delivery.

You are responsible for return shipping costs. M+A is not responsible for damaged or lost returns, so we recommend that you use a trackable shipping service and purchase insurance. We will not issue refunds for lost or damaged goods.
Upon acceptance of the merchandise for return, your refund, less shipping costs, will be processed within 7 business days, and you will receive an email acknowledging the return.
If you wish to make an exchange, please place a new order and return the original merchandise separately. This will ensure the quickest service and that the exchange item you need is in stock.
When your order has been received by M+A, you will receive an email confirming the order. In general, orders are processed in 2 - 3 business days from our fulfillment center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Please note once an order has been processed, we cannot cancel or modify the order. If you need to cancel or modify an order that has been processed, please refer to our Returns policy.
We are currently shipping to addresses within the United States, and Canada.
You will receive a confirmation email when your order has been received, and a shipment confirmation with tracking information once the order has been processed. Most orders are shipped via USPS, UPS or FedEx unless otherwise specified.
Postage rates are constantly in flux with all of the carriers, depending on the weight and dimensions of the box or envelope that your items are shipped in, as well as the distance to be shipped. Our fulfillment center will ship your order the least expensive way available among the carriers, on any given day, to get your package to you. Despite the fulfillment center choosing the least expensive way, often it means that M+A absorbs some of the cost. Please note that the estimated shipping time begins the day your order is received by the carrier, not the day that the order was placed. We are not responsible for delayed, lost, or stolen packages. On occasion, an item you selected might be out of stock. If this is the case, we will contact you upon receipt of your order.
You are responsible for providing M + A with correct billing and shipping information. If an order has been shipped to an inaccurate address that you have provided, we cannot be held responsible. If you refuse a shipment from M+A or do not pick up your package, and the package is returned to us, you are responsible for the original shipping cost, return shipping cost, any assessed customs duties or taxes, and a 25% restocking fee. This total will be subtracted from your merchandise refund.
SHIPPING UPDATES - COVID 19:
We are experiencing some shipping delays with our carriers due to COVID-19.
Please note that it is taking longer for our carriers to deliver packages at this time and Priority Mail is no longer guaranteed to arrive within 2 business days. Also, while a tracking number will be generated once your order is ready to ship, up to date information is currently not generally available until a package has finally been delivered.
Also, please note that the fulfillment center that we use to process your orders is experiencing some minor delays, and it may take a bit longer than 2 – 3 business days to process your order or return request.
